Lennon Miller sees transfer battle truly kick off as Udinese not going anywhere after Motherwell knock back

Udinese are expected to make an improved offer for Motherwell’s Lennon Miller.

The Steelmen have knocked back an initial £2.5 million bid from the Serie A club. The Italian side, however, haven’t been put off and are ready to go back in again for the Scotland under-21 cap. They will need to up the ante significantly though if they want to get a deal done. Motherwell are in no rush to sell their prize asset and Miller recently signed a new deal that keeps him at Fir Park until the summer of 2026.

A string of clubs, with Celtic and Southampton among them, who are all keeping a close eye on the talented 18-year-old. The other issue is that the 18-year-old is expected to be out for another couple of months with a fractured foot. Udinese are owned by the Pozzo family, who also have a controlling interest in English Championship side Watford. Watford are no strangers to the Scottish game having signed Ryan Porteous and Rocco Vata in recent seasons.
