Celtic hit with Champions League away fan BAN as UEFA get tough over repeated pyro offences

UEFA has slapped Celtic with an away fan ban after fans ignored pyro warnings yet again.

Travelling punters lit flares en masse ahead of the Hoops 7-1 shellacking in Dortmund. And now the European Governing body have imposed a one-match away ban. However, it has been suspended for two years, meaning supporters will be able to travel to Bergamo next week to see Brendan Rodgers' side take on Europa League winners Atalanta. The Premiership champions have also been hit with an immediate €20,000 fine. A UEFA statement read: "Charges against Celtic FC: Lighting of fireworks, Art. 16(2)(c) DR

"Decision: The CEDB has decided: To fine Celtic FC €20,000 and to ban Celtic FC from selling tickets to its away supporters for a total of one (1) UEFA club competition match, for lighting of fireworks. Said ban from selling tickets to its away supporters is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years, starting from the date of the present decision."
