Martin Bakole squares off against Joseph Parker on Saturday night, as a last-minute replacement for Daniel Dubois.

London-born 'DDD' was slated to return to the ring off to defend his IBF title that he won via a fifth-round knockout of Anthony Joshua in September, but was ultimately replaced by Congolese up-and-comer Bakole earlier this week - after Dubois fell ill and missed Thursday's press conference.

With a record of 21-1, Bakole is fresh off the back of a fifth round knockout of Jared Anderson, in which he clinched the WBO International and vacant WBC-NABF heavyweight titles. However, a win over Parker will see him challenge for his first world heavyweight title, with the WBO confirming that the winner of Saturday evening's fight will face current champion Oleksandr Usyk.

With a new opponent at the ready, Parker is on a heated run of his own, currently relishing a five-fight winning streak with recent victories over the likes of Deontay Wilder and the gutsy Zhilei Zhang – who also fights on this bout’s undercard.

This momentous bout, however, isn’t the main event on the night. Light heavyweight undisputed champion Artur Beterbiev rematches former title-holder Dmitry Bivol after their first battle was called by the finest of margins. Russian-Canadian fighter Beterbiev won the clash, with two ringside judges scoring it 115-113 and 116-112 in his favour, and one deeming it a draw.

Controversy surrounded the result, and the second bout is set to conclude what promises to be an entertaining event. The undercard features the likes of Zhang, Joshua Buatsi and Callum Smith. Shakur Stevenson was due to face Floyd Schofield for the WBC lightweight title, but this fight has now been called off due to the latter suffering with illness.

What time does Martin Bakole vs Joseph Parker start in the UK?

The bout will take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Saturday, February 22. While the undercard is scheduled to begin at 4:45pm in the UK, Bakole and Parker won’t face off until later in the evening.

The Brit clashes with the Kiwi at an estimated 9:40pm UK time, though the ring walks could occur earlier if any undercard fights end early.

Quotes corner

Joseph Parker: "Turning professional at 20 is a very young age, and being champion of the world at 24... you've achieved what you set out to achieve, and you wonder what's next. I didn't have any thoughts about unification fights or becoming undisputed. It was just about being a champion of the world.

"This time it's different; I'm more mature, I understand what I'm doing and what I want in boxing. I want to be champion of the world. I want to be the unified champion of the world and avenge the losses I've had."

Ben Shalom [Martin Bakole's promotor]: "This is about Martin Bakole, and this is about a man in the heavyweight division taking a fight on two days' notice against a top-five heavyweight. It's unheard of. That's why I'm buzzing about that, I've never worked with a fighter that will operate like that, that will work like that. He's worked all his life, he's at the top of the sport now for the first time, getting that recognition. To go in there against Joseph Parker who's literally just been the king slayer for the past year or two."
