'You Spent Rs 2.5 Crore On Me, Won't Let...': Radhika Yadav Tried To Counsel Father Before Murder

Radhika Yadav, was shot dead at her Gurugram residence by her father, who had once spent Rs 2.5 crore on her tennis career, but had lately been having issues with her running an academy.

Radhika Yadav, the former national-level tennis player, who was shot dead by her father at their Gurugram residence, tried to counsel him, saying that he has spent Rs 2.5 crore on her and that she would not let that money go to waste.

Radhika's father, Deepak Yadav, was allegedly distressed due to taunts from villagers for living off his daughter's income. He shot his 25-year-old daughter to death at their home on Thursday after an altercation over the issue. He has been sent to 14-day custody.

According to a report by India Today, Yadav had spent over Rs 2.5 crore on Radhika's tennis training since her childhood. She had become a state-level player, but had to leave the sport after after an injury two years ago. She then opened an academy to provide training to children.

"You have spent Rs 2.5 crore on me. I will not let that money go to waste. I will train young players using my talent and experience in tennis," Radhika told her father, the report said.

Radhika's Father Told Police He Was Disturbed Due To Taunts From Community

Radhika used to book tennis courts at different places to train young talent. She also aspired to become a social media influencer and would frequently create and upload reels on Instagram. A music video featuring her was also released a year ago. 

However, her father was unhappy because of her social media presence. Radhika even deleted all her social media accounts some time ago due to repeated pressure from Yadav, India Today reported.

Moreover,Radhika's father, who himself spent crores on her tennis career, began pressurising her to stop giving training to others as he had become extremely sensitive to the criticism and taunts he had been receiving from the community.

Deepak Yadav reportedly told the police that he was disturbed due to this and had not slept for the past 15 days. He wandered restlessly in the house, and even stopped speaking to his family members.

Yadav earned around Rs 15 lakh per year from his rental income and broker business and repeatedly asked Radhika to shut down the academy as he was earning enough to bear the expenses for the family.

Despite this, she remained committed to her dreams and requested her father to have faith in her. However, things went downhill and the matter took a shocking turn on Thursday when Deepak Yadav shot his own daughter dead.
