VID Vs MUM: Vidarbha complete their sweet revenge over Mumbai by knocking them out of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 semi-finals, thereby, booking their place in the Final of the competition for a second consecutive season.
The Nagpur-based side suffered a heartbreak in last season's Final, as Mumbai defeated them comprehensively to win their 42nd title. Nearly 12 months later, the repeat of last year's Final sees a contrasting result, with Vidarbha registering an impressive 80-run win.

With Kerala all but officially confirming their place in the Final, in the other semi-final going on, Indian fans will witness a new Ranji Trophy winner this time around, as defending champions Mumbai now bow out of the competition.
Here's How The Match Folded Out
Electing to bat first, Vidarbha were off to a flying start on Day 1, as gritty knocks from Dhruv Shorey and Danish Malewar propelled the side above 350-run mark, but a brilliant 5-wicket haul from Shivam Dube in the morning session of Day 2 restricted the home side below 400.
In reply, Mumbai batters failed to live up to their reputation, as international stars such as Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shivam Dube produced dismal innings, as Mumbai were bundled out for 270.
Only Akash Anand stood tall with an impressive 106-run knock, as Parth Rekhade ran through Mumbai's batting order with 4 wickets, and was complemented by the likes of Yash Thakur and Harsh Dubey, who scalped two-a-piece to give Vidarbha a 213-run lead.
The home side suffered early jitters of their own in the 3rd innings, but Yash Rathod had other plans, as his 151-run knock will go down in history as one of the finest knocks played by a batsman against Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy semi-final.
His 151 runs proved to be the point of difference, as Vidarbha managed to end their 2nd innings on the score of 292, with Shams Mulani yet again saving Mumbai with another '5+ wickets' performance.
His figures read 6/85 in 44 overs, as no other Mumbai bowler, apart from Tanush Kotian, proved to be enough effective for the side.
Mumbai were given a target of 406, and with the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Shardul Thakur, and Tanus Kotian present in their ranks, one could fancy them to chase down this total in Asian conditions.
Unfortunately, that was not the case, as Vidarbha bundled them out on 325 to register a famous win, and are now one win away from yet another Ranji Trophy title.
