Jose Aldo just announced his retirement from mixed martial arts in Montreal, and he’ll do it off a controversial loss to Aiemann Zahabi.

Aldo and Zahabi went to war for three tough rounds. The first clearly went to Aldo. The third started with “Scarface” nearly getting the finish, only to find himself with three minutes to go and no gas left in the tank. Zahabi took him down and battered him with elbows, leading some to say he deserved a 10-8.

Others argued that the ass kicking uncorked by Aldo in the first half of the third should have locked the round for him regardless of the end.

The second round? That’s the controversial round, and one that all three judges (two being locals from Montreal) gave to Aiemann Zahabi. In the end, that would give him the unanimous decision win 29-28x3.

A clearly disappointed Aldo then laid his gloves down in the ring and declared he was likely done fighting. Let’s see what everyone’s saying about Aldo’s last UFC fight.
