Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently booked a battle of welterweight fan favorites for the upcoming UFC 316 pay-per-view (PPV) event, locked and loaded for Sat., June 7, 2025 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Vicente Luque vs. Kevin Holland.

Luque (23-10-1) returned to the win column with his first-round submission over Themba Gorimbo as part of the UFC 310 fight card late last year. The 33 year-old “Silent Assassin” is currently ranked No. 14 in the official welterweight rankings.

Looks like that mandatory rest paid off.

Holland (27-13, 1 NC) rebounded from a pair of losses to outpoint Gunnar Nelson at UFC London just last month. The 32 year-old “Trailblazer” has been consistently inconsistent over the last three years, posting a 6-6 record dating back to 2022.

Regardless, his Luque bout should be a fun fight.

UFC 316 will be headlined by the bantamweight championship rematch between current division champion, Merab Dvalishvili, and former 135-pound titleholder, Sean O’Malley. In the UFC 316 co-headliner, Julianna Pena defends her bantamweight title opposite Kayla Harrison.
