Former Kotoko star Jistice Blay makes explosive revelation after exit

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has broken his silence following his departure from the club, making a series of controversial claims about his time in the team’s camp.

In an interview on Pure FM, Blay disclosed that he anticipated his exit even before it was officially communicated to him.

“I knew I was not going to be part of Kotoko’s team. I sensed it during our camp ahead of the MTN FA Cup game against Golden Kick FC. I was later called into a meeting and told I’m no longer in the plans of the club. The explanation they gave was that they are not only looking at performance,” he said.

He also claimed to have overheard a private conversation between Board Member Nana Apinkra and Kwesi Appiah in which one said, “I like Kwame,” which he interpreted as a sign of bias.

Blay further responded to rumours about his lifestyle, strongly denying suggestions that he was a heavy drinker. “People have been misinformed that I’m the only drunkard in the club, but that’s not true,” he said, alleging that teammates Joseph Ablor and Guinean midfielder Camara Mohammed also smoked shisha.

He went on to recount personal disputes, claiming Camara Mohammed once snatched his girlfriend, an incident that led to a police confrontation. Blay also accused forward Kwame Poku of betrayal, alleging he took over a “sugar mummy” who had been supporting him.

“That’s where I even assaulted the security man at the clubhouse because of the tension,” he added, insisting his side of the story had been distorted.

Justice Blay and Kotoko mutually agreed to terminate his contract after the 2024/25 season, despite a year remaining on his deal.
