GPL: We must show we are defending champions against Dreams FC - Gold Stars coach Fritz Schmid

The new head coach of Bibiani Gold Stars, Fritz Schmid, has admonished his players to show character when they take on Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League this weekend.

According to the Swiss tactician, it is important for Gold Stars to show they are defending champions on the matchday and fight for all three points to improve their home record.

Speaking in a pre-match interview, Fritz Schmid acknowledged the quality of Dreams FC but noted that he is confident his players can get the job done.

I’m confident and happy with the boys in training. They are responding very well. I have explained it to the team already. They are defending champions, so I wish for them to show that not only on the pitch but off the pitch. I’m confident we will meet a strong Dreams FC team. So in front of the home crown I want my players to show character and continue their impressive home streak,” Fritz Schmid told Gold Stars TV.

Having only taken over as head coach of Gold Stars this week, Fritz Schmid is keen on a win against Dreams FC to get off to a positive start.

The Week 16 fixture is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm on Sunday, December 28, at Duns Park.
