Uganda coach Paul Put has assured fans that the Cranes will compete with passion and commitment at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, promising performances that reflect national pride.

Uganda will open their AFCON campaign against Tunisia before facing Nigeria and Tanzania.

“Our supporters are a backbone. Their energy, chants and belief travel with us,” he said. “Even hundreds or thousands of travelling fans create a sense of ‘home away from home’ and remind players of what they represent, a nation watching and hoping. We will dirty our boots for them.”

Put stressed that the Cranes will not be intimidated by reputations. “We may face stronger opponents, but we won’t back down,” he declared. “Our aim is to represent Uganda with dignity, passion and purpose.”

The Belgian tactician also praised the leadership of experienced players such as Khalid Aucho, who he said help bridge the gap between the technical team and the dressing room. “Veterans bring leadership, composure and guidance. They help steer younger players in tense moments and set standards in training,” he explained.

With a blend of youth and experience, Put believes Uganda can spring surprises in Morocco. “I promise they will see a Cranes side that plays with heart, unity and pride. We will fight for every ball,” he concluded.
