Joining VfL Wolfsburg means a lot to me - Ghana defender Jonas Adjetey

The Black Stars centre-back completed his transfer to the German club on Monday, February 2.
A club statement said, “Further reinforcement for the Wolves' defense: Center-back Jonas Adjetey has made a permanent move from FC Basel to the Green-Whites. The 22-year-old Ghanaian international has signed a contract until June 30, 2030.”
In his first interview, the defender noted that he cannot wait to get started at his new club.
"It means a lot to me to be in the Bundesliga now and to take this step with VfL Wolfsburg. I'm looking forward to getting started right away and will invest everything every day so that we can achieve the results we need together,” Jonas Adjetey said as quoted by VfL Wolfsburg on X.
Commenting on the new signing, club sporting director Pirmin Schwegler said the Ghanaian will strengthen the defense of the team.
“Jonas is a very strong physical player, fast and good in tackles. He brings exactly the qualities we need for our defense,” he said.
The Wolfsburg director added, “At FC Basel, he proved himself both in the league and internationally over the past three and a half years. We have high hopes for Jonas and are convinced that he will strengthen our team immediately.”
