AFCON 2025 Trophy tour ignites excitement in Paris

A vibrant evening was held at the Palais de Tokyo, where footballers, journalists, artists and supporters gathered to celebrate African passion and unity. The event aimed to reinforce the connection between the continent and its diaspora, reflecting the identity and spirit of the competition.
The highlight came with the unveiling of the AFCON Trophy, welcomed with loud cheers from a packed audience eager to feel closer to next year’s showpiece.
Omar Khyari, Advisor to the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, said the initiative is designed to rally Africans abroad behind the tournament.
“The Diaspora Tour aims to bring together Africans living in Europe around the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations,” he told MAP. He added that enthusiasm in London and Paris shows growing anticipation for what Morocco hopes will be the best AFCON ever staged.
French journalist Hervé Penot of L’Équipe also praised Morocco’s preparations, citing top-class facilities and the progress of the country’s football as reasons for optimism.
The Paris stop forms part of a wider push to build momentum ahead of the tournament, as excitement continues to grow for one of the most eagerly awaited editions in AFCON history.
