Thomas Frank admits major blow as Mohammed Kudus injury sidelines Tottenham star until April
· GhanaSoccernetTottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has admitted the club faces a difficult period following confirmation that Mohammed Kudus will be sidelined until after the March international break.
Speaking after Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Sunderland, Frank described Kudus’ injury as a serious one, confirming the Ghana international sustained damage to both his quad and tendon. The 25-year-old was forced off in the first half of the match and is now set to miss up to 13 games.
"Kudus is a bigger one, to the tendon and quad, and we don’t expect him back until after the March international break," Frank said. "That’s a blow for us, especially at this stage of the season."
The Tottenham manager acknowledged the timing of the injury is particularly challenging, with the club facing a demanding run of fixtures in the Premier League against Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal, as well as Champions League ties against Dortmund and Frankfurt.
Frank stressed that the priority is ensuring Kudus makes a full recovery rather than rushing him back into action.
"We have to be patient and manage this properly," he added. "The most important thing is that he comes back fully fit and ready to perform."
With Kudus, who has seven goal contributions in the Premier League this season, ruled out until April, Frank admitted Tottenham will have to adapt in attack as they prepare to navigate a crucial phase of the campaign without one of their most influential players.
