Badu scored in Ghana's win against Tanzania and converted the winning penalty as the Black Queens defeated Algeria in the quarter-finals.
However, she run out of luck in the semi-finals after missing from the spot against Morocco.
Meanwhile, head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren insists his team has improved since facing the Banyana Banyana in Group C.
“We lost to South Africa 2-0 in the group stage, but it was a close, 50-50 game,” Björkegren said.
“Since then, we’ve improved a lot. When I came in February, the team hadn’t been together much. But the players are learning quickly and showing real growth.”
