2025/26 Ghana Premier League Week 19 Team of the Week

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and Asante Kotoko defender Samba O’Neil have been named in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League Team of the Week (ToTW) for Week 19.

This follows their standout performances for their clubs over the weekend, ensuring they pick up crucial points to stay in the race for the league title.

Asare was named Man of the Match last Friday after making some top saves in Hearts of Oak’s stalemate against Dreams FC.

Samba O’Neil, with the noise about his imminent departure from Asante Kotoko, starred at the back for his side on Saturday when they picked a point from their draw against Gold Stars away from home.

Asare and Samba O’Neil are joined in the Team of the Week by Isaac Afful of FC Samartex 1996, Christian Owusu of Dreams FC and Justice Arthur of GoldStars SC, all of whom impressed with their composure, discipline and influence at the back.

Medeama SC midfielder Salim Adams earned a place in the team after his unstoppable brace led his team to pick all three points from their away fixture against Vision FC.

He is joined by Ishmael Addo of Heart of Lions FC and Sylvester Simba of Basake Holy Stars FC, both recognised for their energy, balance and contribution on both ends of the pitch.

The attacking trio is made up of Christian Agyenim Boateng of FC Samartex 1996, Richmond Opoku of Young Apostles FC and Joseph Effah of Nations FC.
