Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko eyes strong Ghana Premier League finish amid recent struggles
· GhanaSoccernetMedeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko remains determined to steer his side to a strong finish in the Ghana Premier League, despite recent struggles.
The Yellow and Mauve’s Ghana Premier League chase suffered a major setback following their 2-1 defeat to Dreams FC in the week 26 clash, held at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday. The results has reshaped the title race with just eight matches left to play.
Medeama, who once held a commanding eight-point lead at the top, have now dropped to second place on 46 points, two behind defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars, who seized the opportunity with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Vision FC.
Despite recent struggled, the former Black Stars assistant tactician insists the side will work hard to turn their season around.
“Now our focus shifts to the next game. We must keep working hard and ensure we secure maximum points. With eight matches remaining, we will prepare thoroughly and approach each one with determination.” He said after Dreams FC defeat.
The loss marks a significant turning point in Medeama’s season. Once cruising at the top, their recent dip in form has opened the door for Bibiani Gold Stars, who have capitalized to take control of the title race heading into the decisive final stretch.
For Tanko and his side, the challenge now is as much mental as it is tactical. With momentum shifting and rivals gaining ground, Medeama must quickly regroup to keep their title ambitions alive in what is shaping up to be a tense and unpredictable run-in.
