Gokyildiz brings significant experience in Ghanaian football, having previously held roles at several clubs. He has served as head coach of King Faisal and AshantiGold, and worked as Technical Director and Under-18 team coach at Bechem United. He also previously managed Rainmasters FC.
Hohoe United, who are newly promoted and currently struggling in the league, are hoping Gokyildiz can draw on his experience to guide the club away from the relegation zone. The team sit 16th on the table with 18 points after 18 matches.
The club confirmed the appointment through its official social media platforms, stating that the new head coach’s immediate objective is to secure the club’s top-flight status.
The announcement came shortly before Hohoe United’s 1–0 league defeat to Hearts of Oak in Hohoe. Gokyildiz did not take charge of that match.
Gokyildiz holds a UEFA A Licence, which meets the technical requirements set by the Ghana Football Association for coaches in the Premier Division.
