The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has admitted that the absence of striker Kwame Poku is a major blow for his side ahead of their tie against Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Poku, who is currently injured, is set to miss the two meetings between the Ghanaian giants and the Nigerian outfit in a showdown in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stage.

Speaking in a pre-match interview ahead of the first leg, Coach Karim Zito noted that the injury to Kwame Poku has affected his plans for the game.

“Seriously, it has also turned down my first plan for the game against Kwara. You always have to use what you have to go for what you want. Seriously, Poku’s absence will affect me. There is a plus about it, and there is a negative about it. It has helped me to think deeply,” the experienced coach said.

The first leg of the tie between Asante Kotoko and Kwara United is scheduled to be played on Sunday, September 21.

The match will kick off at 3 pm at the Accra Sports Stadium.
