'We are very pleased to sign him' – Goztepe Sporting Director on Musah Mohammed
· GhanaSoccernetTurkish Süper Lig club Göztepe have completed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Musah Mohammed, with Sporting Director Ivan Mance highlighting the player's tactical versatility as a key factor in the transfer.
The 24-year-old midfielder arrives from fellow top-flight side Bodrumspor on a three-and-a-half-year contract with an option for an additional season.
Mance expressed strong satisfaction with securing the player, whom the club had monitored for an extended period. "Musah is a player we have been following for a long time, and we are very pleased to have brought him into our squad," Mance said. "He is a versatile footballer who can play in multiple positions."
Mohammed's move to Göztepe follows a significant period of development at Bodrumspor, where he was instrumental in the club's historic promotion to the Süper Lig in the 2023/24 season.
Last season, he established himself as a consistent performer in the top division, making 25 league appearances and providing four assists, showcasing his ability to influence games from midfield.
Although Göztepe had shown interest since last summer, Bodrumspor were initially reluctant to part with a player so central to their squad. This season, Mohammed continued to be a key figure, making 21 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and adding two assists before the transfer was finalised.
Göztepe now adds a dynamic and adaptable midfielder to their ranks, with Mohammed expected to bolster the team's tactical options and contribute immediately as they navigate the remainder of the Süper Lig campaign.
