Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo scores for Bournemouth in heavy defeat against Brentford

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo registered his name on the scoresheet for AFC Bournemouth despite his outfit succumbing to a heavy defeat against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Black Stars attacker started and played full throttle of the match, as the Cherries suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Despite the loss, the former Bristol City marksman emerged as one of the standout performers for Bournemouth in the week 18 fixture of the English top-flight.

Semenyo found the net in the 75^th-minute mark, reducing the deficit for Bournemouth, who fell short to Brentford. It was ninth Premier League goal of the season.

An own goal from Djordje Petrovic and Kevin Schade’s hat-trick was enough for Brentford to secure an impressive home victory over their opponent.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian attacker has been in a blistering form in the current Premier League campaign, racking up nine goals and serving three assists in 16 appearances.

His impressive numbers this season has not gone unnoticed, with several Premier League clubs jostling for his services.

As the January window approaches, top Premier League clubs including Manchester City are said to be weighing up a move for the in-demand Ghanaian forward.
