The head coach of Heart of Lions, Bashir Hayford, has revealed that the team’s recent poor form in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season has affected the morale of his players.

The Kpando-based team has suffered a surprising dip in form over the last five matches, losing back-to-back games for the first time this season.

In that period, Heart of Lions have only managed one win and drawn the other two matches.

According to Bashir Hayford, the string of bad results has affected his players, prompting him to work on their psychological and mental well-being ahead of the next game in the Ghana Premier League.

“It has affected them a little, but I have worked on them psychologically and physically and tactically. And we have told them to put the bad results aside. Football is like that. You cannot win all the time. We are managing so that the situation we find ourselves, we will come out of it and get back to winning ways,” Bashir Hayford told Heart of Lions TV.

He was speaking in a pre-match interview ahead of Heart of Lions’ upcoming league fixture against FC Samartex.

That big match will be played on Sunday, December 21, and is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm.
