'He wants to achieve a lot' - Prince Amoako Junior highlights Caleb Yirenkyi’s hunger behind the humility
· GhanaSoccernetGhana forward Prince Amoako Junior has revealed that Caleb Yirenkyi’s rapid rise has not altered the midfielder’s mindset, insisting his Nordsjaelland teammate remains driven by ambition rather than praise.
Speaking from close quarters in the dressing room, Amoako said Yirenkyi’s humility is matched by a clear determination to reach higher levels in his career.
Yirenkyi has developed into a central figure for FC Nordsjaelland since breaking into the first team, delivering a run of consistent performances that have strengthened his reputation in the Danish Superliga.
Amoako believes the midfielder’s attitude is what separates him from many young players enjoying similar recognition.
"Caleb [Yirenkyi] doesn’t see himself the way we see him because he’s a very humble guy. He just focuses more on his work," he told Joy Sports.
"Caleb is a superstar, and I tell him so much every time, but he wants to achieve a lot too."
In the 2025/26 season, Yirenkyi has featured 21 times across all competitions for Nordsjaelland, contributing one goal and four assists.
