The Ghana Football Association will announce the Black Stars squad for the upcoming friendlies against Japan and South Korea by the end of this week, Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has confirmed.

He told Joy Sports that plans are well underway as Otto Addo and his technical team finalise preparations for the Asia tour, which serves as part of Ghana’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“Tentatively, we are looking at the end of this week or the weekend to confirm who will be in the squad and the full complement of the team,” Asante Twum said.

He explained that an advanced team will leave Accra on Friday for Japan, followed by the rest of the technical staff.

“I don’t know yet if there will be local players. Depending on their number, they will hopefully travel on Sunday to Japan. We will then receive the players after their respective matches on Tuesday,” he added.

The Black Stars are scheduled to play Japan on November 14 before facing South Korea four days later, with both matches serving as key tests for the squad’s readiness.

Otto Addo is expected to use the games to evaluate his core players and assess potential new additions ahead of Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance.

The World Cup draw takes place on December 5 in Washington, where Ghana will discover its group-stage opponents.
