Ibrahim Tanko reveals what went wrong in Medeama's defeat to Dreams FC
· GhanaSoccernetMedeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko has pinpointed his side's sluggish start as the decisive factor in their 2-1 loss to Dreams FC, a defeat that cost them top spot in the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking after the matchday 26 clash at the Tuba Astroturf, Tanko admitted that Dreams FC dominated the opening exchanges, leaving his side chasing the game from the outset.
"We started very slowly, and Dreams FC were the better side in the opening 20 minutes," Tanko said.
The Tarkwa-based side gradually grew into the contest and produced a strong second-half display, scoring a fine goal, but it was not enough to overturn the early deficit.
"In the second half, we dominated play and scored a beautiful goal, but unfortunately, time was not on our side, and we ended up losing."
The result saw Bibiani GoldStars leapfrog Medeama to take over at the summit of the league table. With eight matches remaining, Tanko stressed the importance of learning from the setback and maintaining focus.
"Now our focus shifts to the next game. We must keep working hard and ensure we secure maximum points. We will prepare thoroughly and approach each one with determination."
Medeama will look to bounce back quickly as the title race enters its crucial final stretch.
