Basake Holy Stars defender Francis Asante is pleased with his outfit victory over Karela United in matchday 28 of the Ghana Premier League.

The Nzema derby, held at the AAK II Sports Arena ended 1-0 in favour of Basake Holy Stars, who recorded their 10th consecutive home win in the domestic top-flight on Sunday.

Bismark Teye’s 61st-minute strike proved decisive in an entertaining contest between the two sides.

Speaking after the match, the enterprising right-back could not hide his joy after helping the side to snatch maximum points against their opponent.

“It wasn’t an easy game, but we’re delighted to have secured all three points. We were determined not to lose on home turf, and that resolve paid off. We’re grateful to our fans for their incredible support, and I urge them to continue backing the team as the season draws to a close,” he said.

Basake Holy Stars find themselves in the seventh position on the Premier League table with 40 points. They will aim to build on Karela United win when they travel to Abrankese to face Nations FC.
