Medeama coach Ibrahim Tanko reveals ultimate target for the season

Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has made no secret of his ambition for the 2025/26 campaign, declaring that anything less than the Ghana Premier League title will be considered a disappointment.

Speaking to the club's media ahead of their Week 24 clash with Swedru All Blacks, Tanko reaffirmed his side's determination to go all the way despite seeing their lead at the top cut to three points following a draw with Samartex 96.

"We are still top of the table with a three-point advantage, so our concentration must remain on ourselves," he said.

When pressed on Medeama's ultimate objective, the former Black Stars assistant coach did not hesitate.

"Absolutely — the players, board, and management are all committed. We believe strongly that by the end of the season, we will be crowned champions."

The Yellow and Mauve made history two seasons ago by winning their first-ever Ghana Premier League title under Augustine Evans Adotey. Tanko now believes the club has the unity, experience, and mentality to replicate that success.

With Bibiani Gold Stars breathing down their necks in second place, the pressure is mounting. But Tanko's message is clear: the target has not changed, and neither has the belief.
