Ghana have received a major boost ahead of their friendly against Wales, with Ernest Nuamah and Abdul Mumin returning to the Black Stars setup after lengthy injury absences.

The pair are among the players preparing for the June 2 friendly in Cardiff as Ghana continue their build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Both players have endured difficult periods on the sidelines after suffering ACL injuries that kept them out of action for extended spells. The injuries ruled them out of the Black Stars for more than a year and raised concerns about their availability for the World Cup.

However, both men successfully returned to action for their respective clubs towards the end of the season, earning recalls to the national team at a crucial stage of Ghana's preparations.

Nuamah featured again for Lyon after months of rehabilitation, while Mumin also made his comeback for Rayo Vallecano in Spain.

Their return comes as welcome news for head coach Carlos Queiroz, who is finalising his plans ahead of the World Cup and assessing players ahead of naming his final squad.

The Wales friendly is expected to provide one final opportunity for players to prove their fitness and stake a claim for a place on the plane to North America.

Ghana have already opened camp in Cardiff, with captain Jordan Ayew, Benjamin Asare, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Gideon Mensah, Jerome Opoku, Marvin Senaya and Alidu Seidu among the early arrivals.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L of the World Cup alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
