Ghana earn AFCON qualifying bye after ranking among Africa’s top 10 futsal nations
· GhanaSoccernetGhana has been ranked among the top 10 futsal national teams in Africa, a development that hands the country a significant boost ahead of the next continental qualifiers.
The elite group of Africa’s leading futsal nations includes Ghana alongside Algeria, Angola, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Libya, Guinea, Mauritania, Mozambique, and Zambia.
Ghana’s position in the top 10 means the Black Stars Futsal will not take part in the preliminary round of qualifiers for the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations. Instead, the team has been granted a direct bye into the final qualifying stage.
This places Ghana just one round away from securing a place at the continental finals, reducing the number of matches required and easing the qualification path.
Attention now shifts to the final qualifying draw, which will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Morocco. The draw will determine Ghana’s final opponent as they seek to book a place at the Futsal AFCON finals.
