Israeli Premier League giants Maccabi Tel Aviv have expressed a strong interest to sign Asante Kotoko skipper Samba O’Neil ahead of the January transfer window, according to Kumasi-based Wontumi FM.

The rock-solid defender, who is in the final year of his contract at Kotoko, has attracted significant interest following an impressive performance since his arrival.

The Congolese international joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2024 from Rahimo FC and has since established himself as a key member of the team.

With his contract running out, Maccabi Tel Aviv, who are keen on bolstering their squad has tabled a $150,000 offer to capture the enterprising defender’s signature.

Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors has yet to make a decision about the future of the in-demand centre-back.

Besides, UAE outfit Dubai City are said to be considering a move for the rock-solid defender in the upcoming transfer window.

The 25-year-old centre-back has made 13 appearances for Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League this season, scoring two goals across the period. In the CAF Confederation Cup, Samba made four appearances, scoring a goal as the Ghanaian giants bowed out in the second preliminary round.

Since joining Kotoko, Samba has made 47 appearances across competitions, scoring three goals and delivering an assist.
