2026 World Cup: We're getting prepared daily as the tournament approaches - Brandon Thomas-Asante
· GhanaSoccernetBlack Stars forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has described the team’s latest training session in Cardiff as a crucial step in their build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Tuesday’s friendly against Wales.
The squad trained at Dragon Park on Thursday with twenty-two players on the pitch as preparations intensified.
New arrivals including Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Abdul Mumin, Kwasi Sibo, Jonas Adjetey and Prince Kwabena Adu all took part in the afternoon session, boosting competition within the group.
Thomas-Asante, who enjoyed a strong season with Coventry City that ended in Premier League promotion, said the team is managing fatigue while maintaining high training intensity.
He noted that the focus remains on recovery, sharpness and building cohesion as Ghana aim to peak at the right time.
"Today was another really important session. It's tiring after the season, and we're getting our bodies prepared for another push, but every day we're becoming more prepared.
"I'm happy to be here, and we definitely want to prepare in the right way to go and be successful."
Ghana continue their build-up in Wales ahead of the friendly, which is expected to provide a key test before the World Cup. The Black Stars are drawn in Group L, where they will face Panama, Croatia and England.
