Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has expressed his continued belief in Brandon Thomas-Asante after the Ghana forward ended his goal drought with a strike in Coventry's 3-0 victory over Preston North End.

The win keeps the Sky Blues top of the EFL Championship standings with a six-point cushion over second-placed Middlesbrough. Thomas-Asante's goal marked a welcome return to form for a player who had endured a disrupted midseason.

Speaking to Coventry's media, Lampard reflected on the forward's campaign and the challenges he has overcome.

"That's what he gave us right early in the season, and he's obviously had his injury and then came back and suspension so it's been a bit broken for him since then," Lampard explained.

"But I've got a lot of faith and love for Brandon working with him every day."

The manager praised Thomas-Asante's performance against Preston, highlighting the qualities that make him such a valuable asset.

"It was a good game for him to come into at home here, and I thought he dealt with it well. Getting his goal as the game went on, I liked him more—his power, his reaction always to try and press. He's got that power and speed about him."

Thomas-Asante has now registered 11 goals and four assists in 25 Championship appearances this season, playing a central role in Coventry's push for promotion.
