WAFCON 2024: Ghana seek to redeem image against Tanzania
· GhanaSoccernetThe Black Queens of Ghana will be looking to redeem their image on Monday, July 14, when the team takes on Tanzania in their final Group C match at the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Despite their rich history, the Black Queens are participating at the ongoing tournament in Morocco as one of the underdogs.
The Ghana women’s national team opened their campaign at the tournament with a 2-0 defeat to defending champions South Africa.
Subsequently, the Black Queens played out a 1-1 draw with Mali in their second match at the tournament.
Winless in their first two matches, the Black Queens are on the verge of group stage elimination heading into their final Group C match.
The encounter against Tanzania today gives the Queens a chance to not only advance to the quarterfinals of the 2024 WAFCN but to also redeem their image and make a big statement to the rest of the participating national teams.
The match against Tanzania is scheduled to kick off at 19:00 GMT at the Berkane Municipal Stadium.
