Cioaba Aristica laments costly defensive mistakes in FA Cup semi-final defeat to Nations FC
· GhanaSoccernetThe head coach of Aduana FC, Cioaba Aristica, has expressed his disappointment with the team’s MTN FA Cup semi-final defeat to Nations FC.
The coach and his side went into the crucial game on Friday full of confidence in their ability to secure victory to book a place in the final.
Unfortunately, the team from Dormaa had a poor start to the contest and conceded after just seven minutes in the first half. Emmanuel Annor's strike decided the game, with Nations FC eliminating Aduana FC at the end of the game.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Cioaba Aristica blamed his team’s defence for the defeat, despite stressing that the entire team must take responsibility for their inability to progress.
“First, let me congratulate Nations FC on the win. It is coming from one mistake by our defensive line. Our midfield and attacking line did not have the inspiration today, and we didn’t have the chance to score.
“We had a problem with our attack. We will accept responsibility as a team. This is our squad, and this is our level,” Cioaba Aristica said.
With the chance of winning the MTN FA Cup gone, the Aduana FC coach has charged his players to push for a top-four finish in the Ghana Premier League.
