Andre Ayew is reportedly undergoing a medical in the Netherlands ahead of a potential move to a top-flight club as the second round of the season approaches.

The identity of the club has not been disclosed, though sources close to the former Ghana captain indicate that talks are at an advanced stage, with the deal subject to the successful completion of medical tests.

Ayew has been without a club during the opening part of the season and is keen to return to competitive football. He has maintained his fitness in Ghana, training with his father’s club, Nania FC, although a move to Europe is seen as necessary given the intensity and demands of top-level football.

The 36-year-old is understood to be targeting a return to regular action to strengthen his chances of a Black Stars recall ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He has been absent from the national team for more than a year, with his last appearance coming at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Ayew last featured for Le Havre in the French top flight and brings vast experience from spells at Marseille, West Ham United, Swansea City and Nottingham Forest.
