Ghanaian youngster Douglas Owusu has officially completed his move to Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The highly-rated 19-year-old attacker has signed a three-year contract with an option for an additional year, sealing a landmark transfer from FK Radnik Surdulica after passing his medical and finalising all contractual details.

Red Star have paid a fee in the region of 2.7 million Euros for Owusu, underlining the club’s confidence in his ability and long-term potential.

The Ghanaian forward is expected to link up immediately with his new teammates in Antalya, Turkey, where the club is currently holding its mid-season pre-season camp.

Owusu’s move follows an impressive rise in the Serbian Super Liga, capped by his inclusion in the Team of the First Round after a series of standout performances for Radnik.

He scored seven goals in 20 league appearances, while also making a strong impression with his work rate, pressing and intelligent movement in advanced areas.

Since joining Radnik in 2024 from the Ghanaian second-tier Owusu has adapted quickly to European football, establishing himself as a key figure and attracting interest from several clubs across Europe and Africa, including Young Boys, Samsunspor and Al Ahly.

Red Star, however, moved decisively to secure his signature, beating off competition to land one of the Serbian league’s most exciting young prospects.
