Match against Kaizer Chiefs part of our preparations for next season – Kotoko coach Karim Zito

The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has described the upcoming match against Kaizer Chiefs as a preparatory match for the 2025/26 football season.

The Ghana Premier League giants will take on the South African outfit this weekend in the 2025 Toyota Cup.

Speaking to the media in Durban ahead of the match, Coach Abdul Karim Zito said the outcome of the match will not matter.

However, he wants to use the game to prepare his side for the next football season.

“To me, this is a preparation period for me. And yes, as much as it is important, the result matters, but it doesn’t matter most to me.

“What I like about football is that you always have the opportunity to make amendments or improve upon what you have done,” Coach Abdul Karim Zito said.

The Toyota Cup between Kaizer Chiefs and Asante Kotoko will be played on Saturday, July 26, at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The match will kick off at 1:00 PM local time.
