Asante Kotoko lead penalty charts After 30 Ghana Premier League matches

Asante Kotoko have been awarded more penalties than any other club in the Ghana Premier League this season, according to statistics released by the Ghana Football Association after 30 rounds of matches.

The Porcupine Warriors top the list of clubs with the most penalties received, followed jointly by FC Samartex 1996 and Medeama SC. Karela United and Nations FC are tied for fourth place, while a cluster of six clubs, including Goldstars SC, Basake Holy Stars, Bechem United, Dreams FC, and Swedru All Blacks, share the sixth position.

The data sheds light on attacking tendencies and defensive vulnerabilities across the league, with Kotoko’s ability to force opponents into fouls inside the box proving a key weapon in their campaign.

However, the club has struggled to convert some of those opportunities, which may explain their inconsistent league position despite leading the penalty count.

With four matches remaining in the season, the penalty charts could still shift as clubs push for goals in the title race and relegation battle.
