Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has hailed his side’s 2-0 victory over title challengers Bibiani GoldStars as a decisive moment in the Ghana Premier League title race.

The win came in a top-of-the-table clash that strengthened Medeama’s position at the summit, with Tanko describing the result as a reflection of his team’s intent at a critical stage of the season.

Forward Salim Adams delivered the standout performance, scoring both goals to extend his tally to 11 for the 2025–2026 campaign.

The victory gives Medeama a five-point cushion over Gold Stars with four matches left to play.

Speaking after the match, Tanko stressed the importance of the result while urging focus to remain on upcoming fixtures.

“It was a very good performance, 2-0 against your direct opponent, is a very good statement from the team. We still have four games to play.”

“We have to concentrate…we are playing again on Wednesday [against Berekum Chelsea]. We beat them [Gold Stars], we are happy but we have to concentrate on the next game” Tanko said.

Medeama Sporting Club, champions of the 2022–2023 season, now sit firmly in control of their destiny as the title race enters its final phase.
