Salim Adams hype fully deserved, says Ibrahim Tanko
· GhanaSoccernetMedeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko insists the growing hype around Salim Adams is fully justified as the club closes in on the Ghana Premier League title.
Adams has been central to Medeama’s push, delivering consistent and decisive performances throughout the campaign.
The 23-year-old midfielder once again proved his value by scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars in a crucial top-of-the-table clash.
His tally of 11 goals and one assist in 26 league appearances underlines his influence, with the former Hearts of Oak player now widely regarded as a frontrunner for the league’s Player of the Year award.
Adams’ form has also sparked calls for a national team call-up ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Tanko backing the midfielder to meet that level.
“He is a professional player; definitely he worked for the hype that he is getting now,” Tanko said.
“He is one player who is strong in mentality so I hope he will stay fit and keep on giving us the necessary goals we need.”
Medeama travel to face Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday, with Adams expected to remain key in the title run-in.
