Hearts of Oak star Baba Adamu highlights importance of Super Clash victory
· GhanaSoccernetHearts of Oak defender Baba Adamu has revealed that last weekend's Super Clash victory over Asante Kotoko has injected a massive dose of confidence into the Phobians squad as they prepare to face Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.
Adamu was the hero in the fiercely contested encounter at Baba Yara Stadium, his looping header over Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara proving decisive in the 1-0 triumph.
The result propelled Hearts from fourth to second place in the Ghana Premier League standings, closing the gap on leaders Medeama SC to just five points.
Speaking ahead of their Matchday 23 fixture against Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Stadium, Adamu emphasized the positive mood within the camp.
"We are very confident [ahead of the game against Berekum Chelsea], especially after the win we had in the super clash against Kotoko last week," Adamu said.
"It has motivated us so well, and I know we will want to keep the consistency… so we are well prepared for that game."
Hearts will be looking to extend their winning run against a Chelsea side currently ranked 14th in the league standings. With momentum on their side and the taste of victory over their fiercest rivals still fresh, the Phobians are eager to maintain their push toward the summit of the table.
