The Ghanaian winger, who started and played the full game, delivered yet another strong performance to the delight of the home fans at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Sheffield United drew first blood in the 25th minute when Sam McCallum fired home from close range after a corner. Coventry regrouped after the break, with Tatsuhiro Sakamoto leveling the score in the 49th minute from a fine move. Bobby Thomas then turned the game around, heading in from a corner to make it 2–1 just after the hour mark.
As the Blades pushed for an equalizer, Asante showed his class in the dying seconds. Racing onto a Haji Wright pass, he calmly slotted the ball into the net in the 90+5th minute, sparking wild celebrations.
The goal marked Asante’s tenth of the season, underscoring his importance to Coventry’s attack. Coventry now prepare to face Stoke City on November 8.
