Nations FC were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Hohoe United at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium on Friday, as Emmanuel Annor’s late equaliser denied the visitors what would have been their first away win of the season.

Hohoe United took a surprise lead in the 23rd minute through Ati Sena. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Nations FC struggled to find a breakthrough for much of the contest.

The hosts, under new head coach Frimpong Manso, controlled the tempo throughout, enjoying 58 percent possession and registering 19 total shots compared to Hohoe’s two. However, wasteful finishing and resolute defending from the visitors frustrated them until the closing stages.

With time running out, Nations FC finally found the equaliser in the 86th minute when Emmanuel Annor scored, sparking relief among the home fans.

Statistically, Nations FC were the more dominant side, producing four shots on target and six corner kicks, but their inability to convert chances cost them all three points. Hohoe United, meanwhile, were compact and disciplined, showing resilience despite being under constant pressure, and will be pleased to have earned a valuable away point.

The result means both sides remain level on points, with Nations FC extending their unbeaten home run to five matches, while Hohoe United continue to search for their first away victory in the top flight.
