Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi in stable condition after concussion scare
· GhanaSoccernetHearts of Oak goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi is in a stable condition after suffering a concussion during Sunday's Ghana Premier League match against Young Apostles.
The shot-stopper was concussed shortly after saving an innocuous-looking ball in stoppage time. He received emergency medical care on the pitch before being carried away in an ambulance to a clinic at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking after the match, Hearts head coach Didi Dramani provided a reassuring update on the goalkeeper's condition.
"He is fine now. The medics responded to the situation quite well and on time, so he was revived in no time," Dramani said.
The coach also confirmed that Agbasi is under medical surveillance and explained why he was not present after the final whistle.
"He could not come to the post-match conference because it was too soon for him. You cannot underrate these things. You think you are fine, but you really need to be monitored for a while."
Agbasi has made 11 appearances for Hearts of Oak this season, stepping in as second-choice goalkeeper. His condition will continue to be monitored in the coming days as the club prioritises his recovery.
A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head—or a hit to the body—that causes the brain to move rapidly inside the skull. It results in temporary functional impairment, often leading to symptoms like confusion, headaches, dizziness, and memory loss.
