Viking FK sporting director Erik Nevland says the club believes Ghanaian winger Kelvin Frimpong has strong potential after completing a long-term move to the Norwegian side.

Frimpong has signed a contract with Viking that will keep him at the club until 2030 after impressing during a trial period in Stavanger.

Nevland said the club was encouraged by the winger’s performances during training and friendly matches.

“Kelvin has come in with great energy and shown qualities that we like. He is a player with a lot of speed and offensive drive, and we see exciting development potential in him,” Nevland said after the deal was confirmed.

The signing reflects Viking’s continued focus on recruiting young talents with room for development as the club strengthens its squad for the future.

Frimpong joins the Norwegian top-flight side after developing at a football academy in Ghana and is expected to become part of the club’s senior squad going forward.
