Hearts of Oak have the capacity to fix our scoring woes, insists Didi Dramani

Hearts of Oak coach Didi Dramani remains confident his side can rediscover their cutting edge despite another frustrating stalemate that exposed their struggles in front of goal.

The Phobians dropped points in a game they dominated for long spells, missing the chance to close the gap on league leaders Medeama S.C. to two points. Instead, the draw leaves them third on 40 points, five adrift of the summit, with questions lingering over their efficiency in attack.

Yet Dramani is convinced the solution lies within his squad. “We need to do that (consistency), we have the capacity to do that, because we create chances and once you create the chances, we need to have the tendencies to convert, but I think that sometimes we are very woeful in terms of our conversion,” he said.

Hearts have scored 16 goals in 23 league matches this season, a tally better than only bottom-placed Eleven Wonders. However, their performance suggested a team capable of far more.

Martin Karikari forced an early save from Eric Ofori-Antwi, while Mawuli Wayo and Baba Adamu both came close before the interval, including a goal-bound effort cleared off the line. Wayo later squandered an open chance, and penalty appeals were dismissed by referee Jacob Aduntera.
