Sharaf Mahama inspires Black Starlets with surprise visit ahead of U17 AFCON

Sharaf Mahama delivered a timely morale boost to Ghana’s U17 side after paying a courtesy visit to the Black Starlets during their friendly encounter with True Life FC at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday morning.

The Legacy Rise CEO spent time engaging both players and technical staff as preparations intensify for the upcoming U17 Africa Cup of Nations. His presence injected renewed energy into the camp at a crucial stage of their build-up.

Sharaf addressed the squad with a clear message, urging the young talents to stay disciplined and fully committed as they gear up for continental competition.

He challenged them to carry the nation’s expectations with pride and push for qualification to the FIFA U17 World Cup.

Reflecting on their recent journey, the GFA said he reminded the team of their resilience during the WAFU tournament in Côte d’Ivoire, where they overcame difficult moments to secure their place at the championship. That experience, he noted, should serve as a foundation for confidence heading into the tournament.

The visit also marked a reunion with head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, who worked with Sharaf during his time at WAFA.
