Our concentration must remain on ourselves – Ibrahim Tanko keeps Medeama focused amid title pressure

Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has urged his players to block out the noise and focus solely on their own performances as the Ghana Premier League title race intensifies.

The Yellow and Mauve saw their lead at the summit reduced to three points following a draw with Samartex '96 in Week 23, with second-placed Bibiani Gold Stars lurking just behind. But Tanko is refusing to be distracted by the shifting dynamics at the top.

"We are still top of the table with a three-point advantage, so our concentration must remain on ourselves," the former Black Stars assistant coach told the club's media.

His message is simple: control what can be controlled. The results of others matter less than Medeama's own consistency.

Tanko expressed full confidence in his squad's ability to handle the pressure and deliver when it matters most.

"Absolutely — the players, board, and management are all committed. We believe strongly that by the end of the season, we will be crowned champions."

Medeama previously made history by winning their first-ever Ghana Premier League title two seasons ago. As they prepare for their upcoming clash with Swedru All Blacks, Tanko is ensuring his players keep their eyes forward and their focus inward.
