Performance against Heart of Lions was one of our worst this season – Kotoko coach Karim Zito
· GhanaSoccernetAsante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has described the team’s performance against Heart of Lions on Sunday as one of the worst he has seen since the start of the 2025/26 football season.
The Porcupine Warriors faced off with Lions over the weekend in a Week 21 fixture of the Ghana Premier League campaign.
In a four-goal thriller played at the Kpando Sports Stadium, Heart of Lions thumped Asante Kotoko 3-1 to amass all three points.
Speaking ahead of Kotoko’s upcoming clash against Aduana FC in the MTN FA Cup, Karim Zito admitted that his side’s performance in the last match was very bad.
He is hopeful that the team’s performance will improve when they host their FA Cup opponent next weekend.
“One of the worst performances, I will admit, was against Heart of Lions. One nice thing about football is that you always have the opportunity to make an amendment. We will use the match against Aduana to make an amendment to please our fans,” Karim Zito told AKSC Media.
The MTN FA Cup Round of 16 clash between Asante Kotoko and Aduana FC will be played on Sunday, February 8. The highly-anticipated contest is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
