Ghana forward Prince Amoako Junior has offered glowing praise for teammate Caleb Yirenkyi, highlighting the midfielder’s consistency and grounded personality despite his rapid rise at club and international level.

Yirenkyi has become a key figure in Nordsjaelland’s first team since earning his breakthrough, establishing himself as one of the most reliable performers in the Danish top flight.

That form has translated onto the international stage. Yirenkyi’s steady progression earned him a call-up to Ghana’s Black Stars, where he has now accumulated eight senior caps.

His involvement has included appearances in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, underlining his growing importance within the national setup.

Amoako, who shares the dressing room with Yirenkyi at Nordsjaelland, believes what sets the midfielder apart is not just his ability, but his attitude.

"Caleb [Yirenkyi] doesn’t see himself the way we see him because he’s a very humble guy. He just focuses more on his work," he told Joy Sports.

"Caleb is insane, he’s crazily good. I say this every time because he delivers almost every time, every game, and to keep that consistency is top level.

"Caleb is a superstar, and I tell him so much every time, but he wants to achieve a lot too."

During the 2025/26 season, Yirenkyi has made 21 appearances in all competitions for Nordsjaelland, contributing one goal and four assists.
