Ibrahim Tanko highlights importance of Medeama clash with Asante Kotoko

Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko has underlined the importance of his side’s upcoming Ghana Premier League clash against Asante Kotoko, describing it as a crucial fixture for both teams.

Speaking ahead of the Week 29 encounter, Tanko stressed the need for his players to deliver at home and secure all three points as they look to improve their recent form.

Medeama go into Sunday’s game after a difficult run, recording two draws, two defeats, and just one win in their last five matches. The team will be eager to bounce back in front of their home fans.

"I think in playing Kotoko is always a big game and not only because of the name Kotoko but because of where we are in the league now and every game is very important and we are playing home. We want to control the game. We want to win. Definitely we want to keep our three points here. It's not going to be easy but like I said we train very good this weekend and I hope that the boys will make it happen," he told Medi TV.

Kotoko also head into the clash struggling for consistency, with two draws, one win, and two defeats in their last five games.
